Hammocks Beach State Park is one of the best landmarks along the Crystal Coast. The uninhabited barrier island hosts a few primitive campsites, and a beautiful beach that stretches for miles. To explore the island- you can paddle your own canoe/kayak, or take a ferry boat ride from the Visitor’s Center (marked on map). The venue hosts a ton of family-fun and educational activities, plus a few major events including the NC Paddle Festival, Military Appreciation Day, and an annual Pirates Invasion Day!
